CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, April 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a device to zap a low-level electrical pulse through the forehead of 7-12 year olds as treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). [1] But the mental health watchdog, Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), says that unsatisfied with the drugging of millions of children with mind-altering drugs associated with mania, psychosis, suicide and even death, psychiatrists have now turned to the FDA to approve a device that electro-shocks children into docility. This is yet another harmful psychiatric electricity-based practice being passed off as “therapy,” misleading parents into thinking their child will be “safe” undergoing it, CCHR says.

The Monarch eTNS System device costs around $1,000, according to CNN. A patch placed on the forehead uses a 9-volt lithium battery stimulation that creates a “tingling sensation” on the skin between the eyebrows. [2] Jan Eastgate, president of CCHR International says, “This latest practice of zapping a lack of focus sends a wrong message to children. Psychiatrists want them to believe that electricity pulsing through their brain while they sleep will help control impulsive behavior, despite no clinical study proving their behavior is a neurobiological condition.”

Recently, the FDA also cleared the usage of electroshock treatment—up to 460 volts of electricity through the brain—for adolescents aged 13 and above with “bipolar” disorder. Yet the FDA admits that it does not regulate medicine and therefore, how psychiatrists administer electroshock—a free-for-all license for committing “mental euthanasia” on any child, Eastgate adds. She called on people to sign CCHR’s petition to ban ECT

Freedom of Information requests CCHR filed in seven U.S. states reveal that psychiatrists are electroshocking kids aged five and younger.

Psychiatrists admit they don’t know how ECT “works.” Nor are there clinical studies proving safety and efficacy of ECT devices. Likewise, the exact mechanism of the Monarch eTNS System and its long-term effects is unknown. [3]

As Forbes pointed out: “There are nearly a dozen neurostimulation devices on the market that claim to improve cognitive function by allowing you to zap your brain with a small electrical current. But just because you can now do this at home doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. ECT uses electrical current in the range of 600-1000 milliamps…But you’re welcome to zap your brain with a much lighter touch of roughly 1-2 milliamps from the comfort of your couch for anywhere between $99 and $800 dollars. That is, if you don’t mind leaving the state of your brain up to chance.” [4]

The marketing hype fed parents for this new device is likely to go something like this: The “zapping” ADHD device is a “noninvasive treatment” and less risky that cocaine-like amphetamines or stimulants currently prescribed to treat “ADHD.” This avoids drug side effects like anorexia, poor growth and cardiovascular problems.

Jessica Baron, writing in Forbes noted, “While it’s true that the [neurostimulation] electrodes don’t penetrate your head, they must produce enough current to reach the brain in order to have any effect at all. Calling these products ‘noninvasive’ is merely a marketing technique and a misleading one if you ask me.” [5]

Researchers do not understand the effects of long-term use of brain stimulation, but say that no brain region exists in isolation. Modulating one brain area may impact on other areas. [6]

Nick J. Davis Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology, Swansea University, UK, explains that because the brain continues to develop until the age of 20, stimulation in children and adolescents would have a stronger impact.

Davis said there is evidence that enhancing one aspect of cognition may be detrimental to other cognitive faculties. “There is also the worrying possibility that electrical stimulation of the skull may induce or inhibit bone growth, an issue of particular importance in children whose cranial bones are not yet fused. This latter possibility has not been explored in human volunteers in brain stimulation experiments,” Davis wrote in 2014. [7]

Davis pleaded for “calm and caution” when opting for stimulation device use in children because serious effects of transcranial stimulation include seizure, mood changes or induction of hyper- or hypo-mania.

“For years, FDA has ignored the practice of psychiatrists electroshocking 0-5 year olds,” Eastgate said. Carlos Peña, Ph.D., Director, Division of Neurological and Physical Medicine Devices Office of Device Evaluation Center for Devices and Radiological Health, claims: “This new device offers a safe, non-drug option for treatment of ADHD in pediatric patients. He also fronted for the FDA when it reduced the risk classification of the brain-damaging ECT device, stating it was safe and effective, while not providing clinical trials from the manufacturers as evidence. Further, Peña was part of an FDA hearing in 2014 investigating the practice of aversive conditioning electrical devices to modify undesirable behavior. [8] In that case, FDA recommended a ban on a device used at the Judge Rotenberg Center in Massachusetts that zaps special-needs residents with an electric shock machine that delivers charges of up to 41 milliamps – 10 times the amperage used in most stun guns – to the body via electrodes on the skin. [9] To date, the FDA has not removed the device from the market. [10]

CCHR says ongoing dangerous decisions by the FDA warrant a Congressional investigation.

New Book Release:‘The Medusa Enigma’ reveals the corruption of USA’s legal and medical systems'

Justice shall prevail

corruption of the legal and medical system

I felt like St Sebastian during this decade of my life

justice shall prevail

‘The Medusa Enigma’ Dino Panvini,MD,describes how he escaped attempted murder, near death experience and corruption of the legal and medical system in USA.

The relentless fight against corruption is never easy.It is exhaustive on ourselves, families, friends and our children. I believe the price of the pain is worth holding on for our dignity and values!”

— Dino Panvini M.D.

CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, April 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — New Book: In “The Medusa Enigma”, nonfiction, (published by Xlibris), author Dino Panvini, M.D., reveals the corruption within the medical and legal systems in America, and how lawyers are injuring innocent people for malicious intent yet not policed by the American Bar Association.

Dino Panvini, M.D. says: ‘Everything you are about to read is true. Although you may think this is a work of fiction, it is not! This book will take you deep inside the corruption of the United States’ legal and medical systems, and how it led to my near-death experience and multiple attempts on my life.’

Through the book, readers will learn about the actions taken against Panvini’s professional career, personal life, and safety with multiple murder attempts and fraudulent allegations by the legal medical system — all because he did the right thing. The book chronicles the battles Panvini faced against a conspiracy of malignant lawyers with immoral ethics and criminal behavior while colluding with a very corrupt medical system. According to Panvini, the origins of these actions are from a “psychologically deranged drug addicted” ex-wife.

The book describes real events that have taken place as the reader will be enchanted with the drama, corruption and real-life attempted murders. “[I want the readers] to understand the reality of the corruption of the legal and medical system in the United States, and how important it is to change the present corruption and to allow for a policing agency to monitor the legal system,” says Panvini.

Ultimately, Panvini invites readers to witness a non-fiction fast-paced thriller of a doctor escaping attempted murder, corruption by the legal and medical system and a bizarre divorce like no one have ever heard. The name of the book has cryptic message. Let’s see if readers can decipher the message, as of today only one reader has deciphered the message. Enjoy your read because my readers tell me that is a page turner. “Once I started I couldn’t put it down”. Another reader says: “Best book I've read in a long time. It was a very easy and exciting read. It was an eye opener about how evil people can be, and so greedy. I kept wondering how do these people look themselves in the mirror, and not be mortified at what they have become. Dino Panvini MD is amazing how he never gave up the fight for what he knew was right and what he believed in. Even at his darkest moments his faith got him through. He is a great inspiration for people when they are going through tough and unfair times….God does have a plan for us and will give us the strength to keep going…Thank you Dino, for sharing your story.”

Calcium in Arteries is Shown to Increase Patients’ Imminent or Long-Term Risk of a Heart Attack, Researchers Find

test

New study from the Intermountain Healthcare Heart Institute in Salt Lake City shows that identifying the presence or absence of coronary artery calcium in a patients’ arteries can help determine their future risk.

Through these results, we’re seeing more clearly that the presence of coronary artery calcium can help us to predict who is more likely to have a cardiac event.”

— Viet Le, PA-C, Intermountain Healthcare Heart Institute

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 84111, April 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — About six million people come into an emergency department every year with chest pain, but not all of them are having a heart attack — and many are not even at risk or are at very low risk for having one.

Now, a new research study presented at the American College Cardiology Scientific Sessions from the Intermountain Healthcare Heart Institute in Salt Lake City shows that identifying the presence or absence of coronary artery calcium (CAC) in a patients’ arteries can help determine their future risk.

“Through these results, we’re seeing more clearly that the presence of coronary artery calcium can help us to predict who is more likely to have a cardiac event, not only later in life, but when symptoms are present, in the near future and hopefully, medically intervene in time to stop it,” said Viet T. Le, PA-C, principal investigator and researcher at the Intermountain Healthcare Heart Institute in Salt Lake City.

Results of the study were presented at the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions last month in Atlanta.

For the study, researchers identified 5,547 patients without a history of coronary artery disease who came to Intermountain Medical Center with chest pain between April 2013 and June 2016.

These patients had undergone PET/CT scans to assess for ischemia, a disruption of normal blood flow through the heart arteries to the muscle tissues of the heart. This scan also looks for the presence of CAC, which are calcium deposits on the walls of the heart’s arteries, indicating atherosclerosis, or plaque, the hallmark of heart disease. The researchers then examined patients’ medical outcomes for up to the next four years.

Researchers found that patients whose scans revealed CAC were at higher risk of having a heart event within 90 days compared with patients whose PET/CT showed they had no CAC. Researchers also found that patients with CAC were also more likely over the following years to have high-grade obstructive coronary artery disease, revascularization surgery, and/or other major adverse cardiac events than patients who had no coronary artery calcium.

The findings can be used in two different ways, said Le.

First, testing for CAC can help emergency departments quickly identify those patients with chest pain, but are not in acute distress as being at risk for a future heart event from those who may have non-heart related symptoms and should follow up with their primary care physician to identify the true source of the chest pain, which may be as simple as a pulled muscle. These CAC scans are non-invasive, use only as much radiation as a mammogram, and are relatively cheap, especially compared to PET/CT stress tests, Le said.

Second, CAC isn’t easily visually identifiable at low or moderate levels in the arteries without a formal scan. Checking patients who are not actively found to be experiencing a heart event but who have suspicious symptoms when they come to the ED can help physicians identify who is at risk for a future event. This allows for early initiation of risk reducing lifestyle changes in those found to have CAC to avoid future events.

“We can have that discussion about improving their lifestyle a little sooner this way because they may not be having an acute event but they’re looking down the barrel of one, so let’s see if we can move that barrel away,” said Le.

Future studies are needed to demonstrate whether a CAC first strategy in these symptomatic patients will better identify those who should have further stress testing as well as improve patient education and early implementation of risk reducing strategies.

This research was funded by the Intermountain Foundation.

Grillilng food safety tips by Stop Foodborne Illness

Make sure that you are grilling meat at the proper temperature.

Warmer temperatures outside comes an increased risk of foodborne illness. Learn these food safety grilling tips.

CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, April 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — As weather gets warmer and days get longer, we inevitably want to gather with friends and family for evenings around the grill. However, with warmer temperatures also comes an increased risk of foodborne illness. According to Stop Foodborne Illness – a national, nonprofit, public health organization dedicated to preventing illness and death from foodborne pathogens – the bacteria in your food multiply faster at temperatures between 40°F and 140°F. Read on to learn how you can prevent foodborne illness while grilling so you can have fun, carefree and safe barbecues all summer long.

Your Barbecue Journey
Knowing how to safely prepare, cook and store food is easier than you might think. Here are some tips on being food safe before, during, and after your barbecue.

Destination #1 – The Grocery Store
Any great barbecue starts with quality meats and vegetables from your local grocery store. To avoid cross-contamination between the raw meats you purchase and other foods in your cart, wrap the meat in plastic produce bags (many grocery stores provide these). This keeps the meat juices from dripping onto other items. For grocery stores that offer paper wrapping for poultry, fish, and red meat you may want to request extra wrapping from the employee assisting you. The main objective is to keep those raw meat juices away from produce and other items in your cart.

Remember, the trunk of your car is especially hot on warm days, so for the ride home, or on to wherever the cookout is happening, pack a cooler with ice (or frozen gel packs) to store the meat, especially for hot days over 90°F. If you’re traveling a distance and packing produce and other items too, be sure to keep the uncooked meat in a separate cooler from the other items. If you’re headed home, meat and other perishables should be the first out of the car and into the fridge or freezer.

Destination #2 – The Cookout Spot
You’ve arrived and you’re ready to start cooking if you’ve done the following: Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. Washing hands before and after handling raw meat help to avoid transferring any potential bacteria to other foods. If soap and water aren’t easily accessible, bring a 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer to keep your hands clean throughout the process.

When preparing your meat, you want to prevent any bacteria from the raw meat (and juices) from contaminating your freshly barbecued meal. If marinating is your thing, make two batches of sauce – one for use on raw meat (marinating) and one for use on cooked meat (basting). After marinating raw meats in the fridge (not on the counter), discard the marinade. DO NOT reuse raw meat marinade for cooked food.

Most importantly, grill meat to a safe internal temperature. Using a meat thermometer is the only way to know if the meat is fully cooked, so don’t guess! Check the temperature at the thickest part of the meat and sanitize the point of the thermometer in between readings.

Safe Internal Temperatures
• Burgers/ground meat (except poultry) to 160°F (72°C)
• Chicken and Poultry (including ground poultry like turkey burgers) to 165°F (74°C)
• Whole cuts of meat including pork to 145°F (63°C), with a 3-minute rest time before serving
• Fish and Shellfish to 145°F (63°C)

When plating, do not use the same platter to serve cooked food that you used to hold the raw meat. This goes for utensils as well – like tongs and spatulas – keeping raw meat juices away from cooked foods prevents the spread of potentially harmful bacteria. Unless utensils and dishes have been thoroughly washed with soap and hot water between transporting raw meats to the grill and removing cooked meats to bring to the table, you cannot use the same utensils and dishes.

Destination #3 – The Return Home
If you’re hungry, don’t wait to go back for seconds! On 90°F or higher days, perishable foods not eaten within one hour should be thrown away. On other days (below 90°F), perishable foods not eaten or refrigerated within two hours should be tossed out.

When storing leftovers, fully cooked food can be stored in shallow containers in a cooler with other cold beverages. To be sure food is still good for the next day, promptly refrigerate leftovers in a cooler with ice and then in the fridge when you return home. However, if you are still unsure if the food is safe to keep, just remember – when in doubt, throw it out.

Chiropractor Dr. Scott Zack considers latest trends in practice

Dr. Scott Zack

Dr. Scott Zack

Dr. Scott P. Zack explores the latest chiropractic industry trends and considers what's in store moving forward.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICHIGAN, USA, April 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Chiropractor Dr. Scott P. Zack reflects on Dynamic Chiropractic's most recent Expanding Chiropractic Practice Survey as he addresses the latest industry trends, including reduced dependency on insurance and the growth of so-called multi-practitioner offices.

A magazine for U.S. chiropractors with a circulation of over 60,000, Dynamic Chiropractic is published by MPA Media and is indexed by CINAHL, a catalog of predominantly English-language journal articles relating to healthcare, allied health, nursing, and biomedicine.

"The Expanding Chiropractic Practice Survey offers an interesting snapshot and look into exactly what's trending within chiropractic care in the United States today," explains Dr. Zack, a successful and experienced chiropractor based in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan.

Looking to reveal a number of key takeaways from the latest Dynamic Chiropractic Expanding Chiropractic Practice Survey, the main finding, he says, centers around reduced dependency on insurance. "Around 40 percent of chiropractors in the United States now receive less than a quarter of their total annual revenue from so-called 'third-party payers,'" reveals Dr. Scott Zack, "pointing at a growing trend toward reduced third-party dependency."

Second among the trends highlighted by Dr. Scott P. Zack and Dynamic Chiropractic pertains to an extended range of revenue channels. "According to the latest Expanding Chiropractic Practice Survey, more than half of all U.S. chiropractors polled revealed that they planned to increase their revenue by offering a broader range of services during the coming year," explains Dr. Zack.

This approach is further reflected, he also points out, in another trend highlighted by Dynamic Chiropractic which suggests that the majority of those polled are also looking to increase the range of physical products offered to patients. Highlighted products, according to the survey, include nutritional supplements, topical analgesics, orthotics, and pillows, all of which are currently provided by more than half of all chiropractors polled, a number which Dr. Zack suggests is set to climb.

Further industry trends revealed by the survey include a reduction in so-called solo practitioner offices, and the growth of multi-practitioner sites, as well as an increase in the number of new patient sources. "More than a third of the chiropractors polled reported that they now regularly acquire new patients via social media," Dr. Zack reveals, "a trend which only looks set to grow further moving forward."

"Patient referrals, however," he adds, wrapping up, "remained the standout leader, as expected, with practice website inquiries also proving to be a common and growing source of new patients among chiropractors located across the United States."

$10,000 SDWR Autism Service Dog Grant Awarded to 7-Year-Old Boy in Largo, FL

Autism Service Dog from SDWR

Autism Service Dog Grant Awarded from SDWR

Christian, a 7-year old boy living in Largo, Florida, has received a very generous $10,000 Grant towards his very own Autism Service Dog from SDWR

LARGO, FLORIDA, USA, April 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Christian, a 7-year old boy living in Largo, Florida, has received a very generous $10,000 Grant towards his very own Autism Service Dog from Service Dogs by SDWR, to assist him and help better communicate his needs. SDWR, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Virginia, is one of the nation’s largest service dog providers with over 600 service dogs placed. SDWR is now serving over 1,000 families through its programs. SDWR breeds, trains, and places service dogs to adults and children with invisible disabilities such as Diabetes, Seizure Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or in the case of Christian – Autism Spectrum Disorder.

SDWR is known for its customized training methods that aid those with invisible disabilities. In recognition of April being Autism Awareness Month, SDWR sponsored a Grant Program for Autism Service Dogs. The grant program is for individuals in North America diagnosed as being on the Autism spectrum, to include Aspergers. SDWR accepted applications throughout the month of March and a great deal of their decision making process in determining who received an Autism Grant relied heavily on the essay portion of the application.

Christian was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum at a moderate level when he was three years old. Christian's autism symptoms present themselves in many different ways. He has a speech and communication delay. He is seven years old, but still doesn't speak in complete sentences. He is very hyperactive and has sensory challenges. He has a hard time with loud noises and can be distracted by any audible noise in a room. Christian also has behavioral challenges as well and regulating his emotions is very difficult for him. He can be weepy, angry, anxious, and even aggressive. Christian has a very hard time sleeping through the night and needs constant pressure to stay asleep. Otherwise, he has night terrors, can't sleep, and occasionally sleep walks. Christian’s family is hopeful that a service dog will act as a guardian for him and help keep him safe.

SDWR has awarded several grant opportunities to help families with loved ones on the Autistic Spectrum alleviate funding efforts for their very own Autism Service Dog. SDWR has awarded four $7,500 grants, two $10,000 grants, two $12,500 grants, as well as awarding two lucky families a full $25,000 Autism Service Dog Grant. For existing clients, the SDWR grant covers up to $10,000 towards an outstanding pledge or the remaining balances, whichever is less. The selection process is based on ability to care for the service dog after placement, ability to follow SDWR’s training program, the information on the application, and participation in allowing SDWR to publish benchmark moments about the service dog and handler.

SDWR has developed a unique program for training dogs to support children and individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Not only can service dogs provide an overall calming effect for the child on the autism spectrum, but there are a number of tasks the dogs can be taught, too. These tasks include finding the child if lost, serving as stationary ballast in the case of elopement, and providing redirection from repetitive or self-injurious behaviors among other tasks. When paired with a service dog, children on the autism spectrum often have improved sleep patterns, increased social interaction, and a better ability to express themselves.

SDWR provides high quality Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and hypoallergenic breeds (exclusively for those with verifiable allergies, additional pledge will apply) that are suitable for service work. SDWR has developed a partnership with their breeders coupled with unsurpassed training, allowing them to offer their clients another tool to better manage their life of dealing with a spectrum disorder.

SDWR delivers some of the highest-quality and personable service dogs to families who are affected by an invisible illness. Unlike most other service dog organizations, SDWR’s trainers travel to the client’s home over a period of 12-18 months for continued personalized training. This is because they firmly believe that the families should receive as much training and education as their service dogs do.

Service Dogs by SDWR is a non-profit organization based in Virginia, and relies on donations to help the organization in its mission, “Until there’s a cure … there’s a dog.”
